A Productive Day

FAVARH DAY PROGRAMS

Productive community engagement is the key to independence for people living with intellectual and developmental disabilities.

SCHOOL TO ADULT SERVICES  Favarh begins teaching community engagement skills in high school, continuing in our school transition program and throughout adulthood. Community engagement skills are applied either through paid employment that is personally and financially rewarding or though participation in community-based life enrichment programs.

FAVARH'S PROJECT SEARCH Favarh’s Project SEARCH is a unique, school-to-work transition program for young adults with disabilities. Project SEARCH uses a combination of classroom instruction coupled with workplace internships to prepare individuals with developmental and intellectual disabilities for competitive employment.

EMPLOYMENT Favarh offers both supported group and supported individual employment opportunities. Group employment includes working as part of a crew of four at local retail or manufacturing employers, offering businesses mailing services, shredding, and light assembly. In our independent employment program, we match, train, place, and support individuals in appropriate competitive jobs in many different industries in the region.

LIFE ENRICHMENT PROGRAMS Our life enrichment programs include volunteering at local civic and nonprofit organizations and participating in fully inclusive social and recreational activities.

TRANSPORTATION We provide transportation services for participants who live within our geographical area..

Participants in Favarh programs may self-refer or be placed through the Connecticut Department of Developmental Services (DDS).
